The chairman of Iran's Mes Kerman Football Club, Abdolreza Borhaninejad, has announced the Premier League club has been dissolved, reported Press TV.
The Kerman-based football club was dissolved due to its financial problems, just 20 days before the Iranian Premier League's new season, the Persian section of goal.com quoted Borhaninejad as saying in a telephone conversation on Wednesday.
Mes came third in Premier League's last season to qualify for the Asian Championships. Tehran's Esteqlal won the title followed by Zob Ahan.
Mes Kerman Football Club does not officially exist, Borhaninezhad said.
The club's chairman further pointed out that he and the team's head coach Parviz Mazloumi have resigned from their posts and that the players have also terminated their contracts with the club.
"Unfortunately, Mes Kerman FC received no financial help while we were doing our best for the club to achieve success," Mazloumi said on Wednesday.
"I had several lucrative offers from other clubs but stayed with Mes Kerman because of the people and the local authorities' request," he added.
"I also ask the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to keep his promises in his visit to the city of Kerman to assist Mes."
