Iranian Offshore Oil Company Managing Director Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh has announced that the IOOC is negotiating with a European company that is interested in investing over $4 billion to produce liquefied natural gas at the Lavan gas field.
"The European company has presented its detailed proposal," he told the Mehr News Agency here on Monday.
Zirakchianzadeh stated that if the plan is approved, "the LNG produced at this field will be exported to Europe."
The IOOC has estimated that an investment of about $4 billion is required to expand activities at the Lavan gas field, he added.
