A section of a tunnel in a central part of the Iranian capital Tehran has collapsed, leaving five people injured, Iran's emergency services have reported, Press TV reported.

The collapse occurred at the junction of Navvab motorway and Kalhor street in central Tehran on Sunday, leaving a hole opened up from street level down to the tunnel.

According to a report by Fars news agency, following the collapse, a motorbike rider fell into the hole, but was later pulled out by rescue workers.
