West cannot deprive Iran of nuclear know-how - Leader

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution cautions Iranians against the West's political hype which seeks to deprive the nation of its right to nuclear technology, Press TV reported.

Speaking on the occasion of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Ghadeer, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei stressed Iran's inalienable right to acquire the nuclear know-how, saying achieving the technology is a "national goal."

Ayatollah Khamenei criticized the US and the UK for making attempts to deceive public opinion about Iran's nuclear case, describing them as Iran's main "enemies."

"For the past thirty years, they have been seeking to isolate this nation and this country through their conspiracies; however, they have failed [so far] and with God's grace will fail in the years to come," Ayatollah Khamenei said on Sunday.

The Leader explained the reason behind Iran's intention to acquire nuclear technology, saying, "In the nuclear case, the Iranian nation is seeking to obtain a science the country is in need of."

"The Iranian nation makes every attempt to achieve nuclear know-how today, so that in 20 to 30 years time the children of Iran and the future generations do not have to beg the West for it," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"However, Westerners through their media hype and false allegations seek to prevent us from realizing this national goal."

The Leader went on to call on the nation to remain vigilant, saying, "The global hegemony is [currently] employing every political and propaganda tool of deception to deprive the Iranian nation of its inalienable right to have nuclear energy."
