US new sanctions will be ineffective: MP
A member of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said here on Saturday that US Congress decision to tighten sanctions against Iran will be ineffective as before, IRNA reported.
US House of Representatives and Congress approved on June 24 the unilateral sanctions against Iran in a bid to exert further pressure on the country's energy and banking sectors.
In an interview with IRNA Friday, Esmaeil Kowsari, a Tehran MP, added that the Americans imposed more sanctions on the country but they themselves understood that they are futile.
Americans are seeking to disappoint Iran from pursuing its righteous objectives but they will fail, he concluded.
