Today earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred at 11:22 local time near the city Nigar in Iranian province of Kirman, IRINN channel official news website said.

Today earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale occurred at 11:22 local time near the city Nigar in Iranian province of Kirman, IRINN channel official news website said.

There is no information about casualties and deaths, as well as the damage from the earthquake.

Earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale occurred yesterday at 18:20 in the Iranian province of Khorasan - Rezavi near Turbati-Haidari. More than 170 people were injured.

Earthquakes often take place in Iran. The most powerful earthquake occurred in December 2003 in the city of Bam, located in the south-east province of Kirman. The earthquake claimed the lives of 31,000 people. The ancient fortress, built of clay, was destroyed.
