Iran to sign agreement on security with neighboring countries
Iran will sign the agreement on security with all neighboring countries, Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar was quoted by the Iranian Interior Ministry's official website moi.ir. as saying.
"Today we have signed these agreements with Azerbaijan and Oman. Signing of this contract will be the main purpose of my visit to Turkmenistan in the nearest future," Najjar said.
Concluding these agreements will serve to ensure stability and prosperity in the region, he said.
Najjar said that Iran is interested in expanding cooperation in political, economic, cultural spheres and security with all countries and especially with neighboring countries.
Azerbaijani and Iranian Interior Ministers Ramil Usubov and Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar signed a joint protocol on cooperation in security, the fight against crime, terrorism and drug trafficking during the visit of Iranian delegation to Baku in May 2010.
