Iran's support for Palestine is a basic and irrevocable policy of the Islamic Republic, Head of Iran's Presidential Office Esfandiyar Rahim-Mashaei has said, Press TV reported.
The defense of Palestine is among the top priorities of Iran's foreign policy and the Islamic Republic will always stand by the people of Palestine, Mashaei made the remarks in a Palestinian refugee camp in the Syrian capital, Damascus, on Monday.
"Iran's Islamic Revolution does not belong only to the Iranians, but it's rather a divine revolution which belongs to all men, women and freedom-seekers in the world," he further explained.
"The Islamic Iran is a powerful country in various political and economic arenas, but its power is resulted from the "power of Islam rather than national sentiments", Mashaei opined.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Maher al-Taher said Iran's Islamic Revolution was a great movement, which has always backed the issue of Palestine and the rights of Palestinians.
The Iranian presidential advisor is in Damascus for a two-day visit to inaugurate Iran's new technologies exhibition. He is scheduled to meet with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday.
