Iranian MP arrives in Kuwait

Member of Iran's parliament and head of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi, heading a delegation, arrived in Kuwait city on Wednesday morning, IRNA reported.

He is to meet with Kuwait parliament speaker Jassem al-Kharafi and invite him to attend meeting of Support for Palestinian Intifada.

The meeting is to be held in Tehran on October 1-2, 2011.

Boroujerdi began his regional and North African tour on Saturday. His visit to Kuwait was scheduled after concluding his visit to Doha and Cairo.

An Iranian delegation, led by a prominent parliamentarian, arrived in Cairo Monday, in a sign of improving relations between the two countries which do not maintain formal diplomatic relations.

The visit is the first by an Iranian official since former president Hosny Mubarak was toppled in February.
