Iranian minister: Israel forms cyber center to attack Iran

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 11 / Trend /

Israel has formed a center for cyber attacks against Iran, Mehr News Agency reported quoting Information and Communication Technology Minister Reza Taghipour as saying.

Taghipour urged that Israel is "the biggest cyber terrorist" in the world.

"Zionist regime (Israel) is symbol of a governmental terrorist by sending damaging software, but Iran has launched a security center to protect country's networks," he said.

Iran 's government posses countries informative infrastructures to control and neutralize many cyber attracts, he added.

The country enjoys good network security and professionals to provide the safety of Iran's cyber space.

He noted Iran plans to run its own search engine by the end of current year (started on March 20, 2011) to restore information in a secure environment.

In early October 2010, Iran announced it had detected and thwarted a cyber attack by the Stuxnet worm, which was supposedly created to infect Iranian industrial and nuclear computer systems.

The Stuxnet worm, first identified by Iranian officials in June last year, is a malware designed to infect computers using Siemens Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) - a control system favored by industries that manage water supplies, oil rigs and power plants.

Iranian experts say the worm may have been created by a state-sponsored organization in the United States or Israel to target specific control software being used in the Iranian industrial sector, including the Bushehr plant - Iran's first nuclear power plant.
