A modern desalination facility will be built by Iran Power Plant Projects Management Company (MAPNA) in the Qeshm Island, located in the Persian Gulf, MAPNA director Abbas Aliabadi said.
The facility will operate based on the multiple effect desalination (MED) method, which will be used for the first time among the Persian Gulf countries, he noted.
He also said that a 50-megawatt power station will be established in the Qeshm Island. He expressed the hope that the desalination and the power facilities would come on stream by September.
