Two mammoth tusks have been discovered in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province.
The two fossils are thought to be 15 million years old, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports. They are in good condition and scientists continue to study them.
The tusks were discovered in Maragheh which sits 30 miles away from Iran's Lake Uromieh and 145 miles south of the city of Tabriz.
The Marageh Fossil Site is spread out over 10,000 hectares. Previous digs have uncovered the remains of ancestors to today's giraffes and deer.
