The U.S. dollar was sold at 19,360 rials on the Iranian unofficial market on Tuesday, compared to 18,830 rials on Monday. Each Azadi gold coin was also sold at 7.2 million rials, compared to 7.02 million rials the day before, according to the Mehr News Agency.
Each ounce of gold was priced at $1592 in international markets.
Euro and Pound were sold at 24,150 rials and 30,000 rials, compared to 23,600 rials and 29,800 rials on Monday, respectively.
The Central Bank allowed trading in its currency at market levels after fixing the exchange rate in January as the threat of sanctions over the country's nuclear program and economic risks spurred Iranians to buy up dollars.
The bank on January 26 fixed the rate at 12,260 after the U.S. dollar surged to almost double that level in unofficial currency markets.
