Egypt handed over the presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) experts meeting to Iran on Sunday, IRNA reported.
Egypt's permanent representative to the United Nations Mootaz Ahmadein Khalil handed over the presidency of the experts meeting of the 16th NAM Summit to the Islamic Republic of Iran during the opening ceremony of the organization's experts meeting this morning.
Addressing the ceremony, he condoled the Iranian government and nation over the recent earthquake catastrophe in northwestern country.
The experts meeting of the 16th NAM Summit was officially started in Tehran Sunday morning with a speech by Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi.
The two-day meeting will be followed with the meeting of NAM foreign ministers and the summit is to be held on August 30-31.
Some 107 delegates are attending the experts meeting.
