Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Saturday that Iran never lets enemies with military or financial powers pursue unilateral approaches in the region to attain their sinister goals.
In an interview with IRNA, he said regional developments should be resolved through peaceful means.
Western media are misleading the world public opinion saying Iran is isolated, whereas, the Islamic Republic of Iran plays a major role in regional developments, he said.
The foreign minister said that the role of Iran in regional developments is undisputable.
"French officials have made baseless allegations that will hurt their own interests sooner or later. The truth will be unveiled and they have to admit to Iran's effective and prominent role in regional developments," Salehi said.
"When Egypt says it believes Iran's role is of prime importance to help resolve Syrian crisis and that the issues in the region would not be solved without Iranian contribution. This is a complete comment and the allegations made by certain countries such as France is of no value and is regarded as futile."
He said that Iran is very optimistic about prospects of relations with Cairo.
On closure of Canadian embassy in Tehran, Salehi said Iran's support for Syria is the root-cause of Canadian government's action to suspend diplomatic relations with Iran, the action has been criticized by Canadian intellectuals.
