The nose surgeries in Iran are performed seven times more than in the U.S., the director of Rhinology Research Society of Iran, Dr. Mohsen Naraghi said, Tabnak newspaper reported.
Naraghi revealed the results of the joint research collaboration between Iran's Rhinology Research Society and the U.S. John Hopkins university.
"If we compare populations of Iran and the U.S., then according to statistics, nose surgeries in Iran are made 7 times mor than in the U.S.," Naraghi said.
He noted that as a whole, without taking the countries' populations into account, then number of nose jobs in Iran is made twice as much as in the United States.
"Unfortunately, a lot of people go for nose jobs, while it is not really necessary. In recent years we have been elevating public awareness in this regard. And yet for about 50 percent of clients that go under such surgeries, it might not even be necessary," Naraghi said.
