Iranian intelligence has arrested several local journalists, who were illegally working with Western media, namely BBC, Fars reported.

According to the Intelligence report, some people were detained and interrogated.

The report said that several internal branches and networks connected to organizations outside of Iran, were revealed.

"The network has been set up in London, with working groups based in Brussels, Paris and Istanbul," said the report.

It was not mentioned how many people were actually arrested.

The local branches in Iran, as said the report, were getting assignments from the Western network, and were collecting sensitive data, news and other information.

Iran's Intelligence report said that the network in Iran was using a cover-up to recruit new people, by offering them gifts, gold coins, and so on.

Meanwhile, one of the journalist detainees that were arrested earlier in Iran in January, got released on bail.

On Sunday Jan. 27, eleven journalists from newspapers Sharq, Arman, Bahar, Etimad, ILNA news agency, and Aseman magazine have been arrested.

Mehr News agency reported that the journalists have been arrested due to the warrant issued by Iran's judicial system.
