Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has criticized the current economic situation in Iran, the Tasnim News Agency reported.

The presidential candidate said that the problems are affecting both rich and poor.

Qalibaf who's a prominent representative from the conservatives camp believes that Iran's economy is in a state of uncertainty and needs to be reformed.

He added that the economy has been needlessly politicized and pledged to restore economic stability within two years should he win the presidency.

Tehran's mayor is a member of the Coalition of Three along with Ali Akbar Velayati and Gholam Ali Haddad Adel.

In September, the Iranian Interior ministry announced that the country will hold the 11th presidential election on June 14, 2013.

The voters will select the successor of the current President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is not able to participate in the elections for the third term according to the country's constitutional laws.

The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election and the Guardian Council vets the candidates for qualifications.
