The workgroup in charge of deciding the next administration's ministers has named Former Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangeneh as the most likely candidate for the oil ministry, an unnamed source told the PANA News Agency.
If President-elect Hassan Rohani approves the decision, Namdar Zangeneh will be officially introduced to the Iranian parliament (Majlis).
Bijan Namdar Zangeneh and Seyyed Kazem Vaziri Hamaneh were reportedly the two final candidates.
Namdar Zangeneh has previously served as a minister of oil, energy and Construction Jihad.
He was appointed as a member of the Expediency Council by the country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in 1996.
