Fire put out at Iran's Shadgan-Mahshahr Gas pipeline after blast (UPDATE)

Shadgan- Mahshahr Gas pipeline in Iran`s southwest has caught fire and exploded today morning, Tasnim news agency reported.

The fire at Iran's Shadgan-Mahshahr Gas pipeline has been put out, Mehr news agency reported.

The gas pipeline was being used feeding Mahshahr petrochemical units.

Previously, Tasnim news agency reported that there has been a blast at the pipeline, and Emergency services of Iran's National Gas Company were working on pumping out the gas from the pipeline.

Mehr news agency also reported that the incident is also investigation by Iran's National Gas Company.

An official within the company said that the blast occured due to some technical issues, adding that the repair activities of the pipeline are scheduled to begin in the next several hours.

He forecasted that the repair would be all wrapped up until September 25.

Thus far, there is no information on possible blast victims.
