A three-day International Tourism Expo 2018 has been concluded in Pakistan’s Karachi with the participation of Iran, IRNA reports.
Many countries including Iran, Bangladesh, Iraq, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and UAE attended the expo.
Governor of Pakistan’s Sindh province Imran Ismail was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the event at Karachi expo center.
About 60 square meters of area was allocated for the Iranian companies participating in the expo. A traditional musical band from Sistan-Baluchistan province was also part of the expo.
Ahmed Mohammadi, Consul General of Iran in Karachi speaking at the closing ceremony highlighted the huge potential of Iran’s tourism sector and informed the audience about main tourism attractions in Iran.
He said that Iranian tourism agencies are also interested to enhance cooperation with other countries including Pakistan to promote tourist activities.
Some Iranian airlines and a tourism agency also took part in the international tourism event. Some Iranian and Pakistani joint tourism companies also participated in the expo. The Iranian companies took part in the exhibition to promote tourism in Iran.
Sindh minister for culture and tourism Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tourism minister, Consul General of Japan, Consul General of Germany and Consul General of Turkey were among the visitors of Iranian section at the expo.
The aim of the expo was to promote tourism in Pakistan and also allowing other countries to inform about their tourist attractions to the people of Pakistan and participating nations.
