The Guardian Council's concerns over Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) should be resolved, Ali Nobakht Haghighi, a member of Iran's parliament, told to Ruydad 24 news website.

MPs also have concerns about economic pressure on people, Ali Nobakht Haghighi added.

The so-called CFT bill, which looked to join the Combating the Financing of Terrorism convention, has failed to pass Iran's Guardian Council.

"For instance, when we sent our football team to the World Cup in Russia we obeyed the FIFA rules and today it should be the same with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issue. So, millions of Iranians are not supposed to be captured by a particular ideology in the country," he added.

"Now, Trump has imposed sanctions on Iran and we must prove our commitment to the rule of law as usual. Europe is waiting to see how Iran acts on these bills, and we have a duty to prove to the world that we are complying with the rules of the international game," he noted.
