Iranian parliamentary committee to investigate Zarif’s resignation

The resignation of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will be investigated at an extraordinary meeting of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian parliament, said Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh, Trend reports via Young Journalists Club (YJC).
Ali Najafi Khoshroodi, spokesman for parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said that 150 Iranian MPs demanded to prevent the resignation of Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Khoshroodi said that MPs want Zarif to remain on this post.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced his resignation on his Instagram page Feb. 25.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hasn’t accepted Zarif’s resignation yet.
