TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 7

Trend:

Iran may face a 60-percent inflation, if the government neither returns to the Vienna talks nor reviews the budget deficit, said member of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce Mehrdad Ebad, Trend reports via ILNA.

"The new administration has already started its work, but no immediate action has was taken to combat inflation,"

has just been established but no immediate action has been taken to combat inflation,” Ebad said.

"There are measures that can move the country towards decreasing the inflation,” he said referring to international relations.

“Getting back to the nuclear negotiating table will positively affect the market,” he said. “In addition, a large part of the inflation in recent years was due to foreign exchange policies. The government must take the necessary steps in these two important issues.”

He went on to say that the country moves towards 60 percent inflation.

“We already experienced a 50-percent inflation,” he said.

“If the current situation is not stopped, we will reach 60 percent, sooner or later," said Ebad.

“The budget is inflationary as the expenses increased instead of decreasing," he said, suggesting the government reduces its spending in order to reduce the budget deficit.
