Iran announces operational plans to boost activity of strategic industries

TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 9

Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Mehdi Sadeghi Niaraki announced the ministry`s major plan to remove production barriers, regulate market and boost exports, Trend reports citing ILNA.

Niaraki explained the three major plans of the ministry, including facilitation of supplying raw materials, such as equipment, machinery, components and parts and planning to raise capital for production units.

He noted the development of a roadmap for strategic industries as another policy of the ministry.

“Some 36 projects have been planned to support strategic industries such as automotive industry, home appliances, textile, chemical, pharmaceutical and medical equipment sectors,” he said.

“The implementation of three action plans for the home appliances, food and precious metals industries are on the agenda,” he said.

He added that in addition to the above three plans, the support package for the development of the machine-manufacturing and equipment industry has been finalized.

He called for assessment of 13,000 inactive industrial units.

"There are 85,000 industrial units across the country, of which about 13,000 are inactive,” he said.
