BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 22. Iran's major mining companies recorded a 10-percent rise in iron ore pellet production from March 21 through July 22, 2023, Trend reports.
Thus, the total iron ore pellet output in the reporting period has reached over 14 million metric tons (mt).
According to a statement released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), prominent mining entities in Iran collectively produced more than 14.06 million mt of iron ore pellets during the initial four months of the current Iranian calendar year. This marked an increase from the reported figure of over 12.7 million mt during the same period last year.
IMIDRO noted that the supply of iron ore pellets by these companies surged by 144 percent in comparison to the previous year, reaching over 12.7 million mt from March through July.
The ministry further revealed that Golgohar Sirjan Mining and Industrial Company stood as the leading supplier of iron ore pellets in Iran during this period, achieving an output of 3.9 million mt.
