Iran declares volume of product exports of startup companies

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 14. The export of products of Iranian startups amounted to 3.6 million tons worth $2.5 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

Last year, product exports of Iranian startups amounted to 5 percent in value terms and 2.6 percent in weight terms. These companies manufactured products, raw materials, etc. using chemical technologies.

The Iranian startups exported products mainly to China, Iraq, the UAE, Türkiye, and Russia last year.

Moreover, Iranian startups imported about 1.16 million tons of products worth $5.14 billion last year.

The products were imported mainly from China, UAE, Türkiye, Germany and India.

The last Iranian year saw 1,504 foreign trade starting enterprises. 1,009 import, 84 export, and 411 in both.

To note, Iran exported over 136 million tons of non-oil products worth $49.3 billion last year, according to the Customs Administration. Iran's non-oil exports fell 8.87 percent in value and rose 9.82 percent in weight last year.
