BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 21. Production of Iran's Salman oil field (Abu Al Bukhoosh in the UAE) has been suspended for 1 month for repairs, an official of Iran's offshore oil company Mahmoud Reza Haghighi said, Trend reports.
According to him, several pipelines and equipment in the oil field will be replaced, and other operations will be carried out.
He noted that after the completion of this operation, oil production at the oil field will be carried out more safely.
A joint oil field between Iran and the United Arab Emirates, the Salman oil field (Abu Al Bukhoosh in the UAE) is located 144 kilometers south of Lavan Island. Salman Field has 44 oil wells and 10 high-pressure water wells. This field contains 4.5 billion barrels of oil. It is recoverable at approximately 1.6 billion barrels.
To date, 1.1 billion barrels have been produced, and about 500 million barrels are possible. Iran is reportedly producing 60,000 barrels of oil daily from this field.
To note, about 160 million cubic feet (about 4.53 million cubic meters) of gas is produced daily from the Salman field. This gas is transported through a 30-inch pipeline 145 kilometers long to Siri Island in Iran and then through a 300-inch pipeline 32 kilometers long to the Asaluyeh area in Bushehr Province.
