Iran reveals volume of product imports from Türkiye

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. Iran's imports of non-oil products from Türkiye amounted to 299,000 tons worth about $327 million during the 1st month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 19, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration said, Trend reports.

According to statistics, Iran's imports of products from Türkiye decreased by 5.17 percent in value terms and increased by 72 percent in weight in the first month compared to the same month of the previous year (from March 21 through April 20, 2023).

The statistics indicate that Iran imported 173,000 tons of products worth $344 million from Türkiye during the same month of last year.

Furthermore, the statistics note that Iran mainly imported various equipment, foodstuffs, raw materials, fabrics, etc. from Türkiye.

Additionally, it should be noted that Iran imported 4.9 million tons of products worth $7.52 billion from Türkiye during the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024). Compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), Iran's imports of products from Türkiye increased by 23.3 percent in value and 39 percent in weight.

Besides, during the first month of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through April 20, 2024), Iran's imports of non-oil products amounted to 2.4 million tons worth $2.7 billion. Iran's imports of non-oil products decreased by 11.4 percent in value and increased by 33.4 percent in weight for the first month compared to the same month last year.

To note, Iran focuses on the importation of necessary products that the country needs and imposes certain restrictions on the importation of products manufactured in the country.
