Gas and electricity prices grew in Ukraine

Gas and electricity prices for population, which remained unchanged for 7 years, grew up today. This decision was taken the National Energy Regulation commission on March 30.

Now city residents will pay 3, 86 cents for 1kBt/ hour and rural residents- 3, 56 cents. Apartments with the electric oven will pay 2, 97 cents. Whereas, gas prices grew to 4, 36 cents for 1 m2 with the counter and 4, 75cents without counter. The general, gas price grew to $45, 7 for 1, 000 per m2.

The economically reasonable price for Ukrainian gas is $77, 8 per 1,000 m2. Ukrainian Neftegas is proposing to raise the price to that figure. The second and the last increase of energy prices for population in 2006 will take place on July 1, RBK reports.
