(Zaman) - The complete list of allegations following the bloody May attack on Turkey's highest administrative court, the Council of State, has been completed by Ankara Republic Prosecutor Semsettin Ozcan. The 12 page report underlines that the motive for the attack was to "use pressure and violence to control the turban (headscarf)," and notes that the "republic itself" was the target of attacker Alparslan Arslan's actions. The state prosecutor is recommending 4 consecutive life sentences for lawyer Alparslan Arslan, as well as 3 life sentences for accomplices Salih Kurter and Suleyman Esen, reports Trend.

In the list of allegations revealed yesterday, Prosecutor Ozcan also notes that Arlan wanted to "command society on the issue of the turban by using pressure, violence and threats." He writes "He (the attacker) aimed to protect the headcovering known as the 'turban,' and organized his group in the name of teaching society a lesson."

Portions of statements made by Arslan to the police following the May 18 attack in Ankara are included in the list of allegations. One portion is as follows:

"As a religious Anatolian person, or as an average Muslim Turkish person, I decided to attack the Council of State because of the decisions they had made regarding the turban. As I see it, these were the wrong decisions. There is no law that is above that of Allah's. I called out 'Allahu Ekbar' a few times before throwing the grenade into the newspaper gardens." Arslan is also being held responsible, through his own admissions, for the bombing of the liberal left-wing Cumhuriyet newspaper in Istanbul one week prior to the attack on Ankara's Council of State.
