The statement was part of a speech delivered by the chief executive at a gathering of people in the capital of this northern province, in his 25th provincial visit.

The president added that Iran is willing to discuss the issue based on logic, adding that such talks should be held under fair conditions.

"There is nothing wrong with suspension of Iran's facilities where nuclear energy is produced, but our negotiators should also suspend their own nuclear fuel cycle to facilitate talks under equal conditions.

"They should know that If they wish to use the authority and atrocity of some world powers, they will fail vis-a-vis resistance of the Iranian nation," he added.

The president said that once nuclear fuel is used by the Iranian nation in other sectors such as medicine, a great leap will be expected, therefore they attempt to deprive Iranians of nuclear technology.

"Those attempting to pretend that they are supporting talks on the issue through contradictory slogans and claims should know that negotiation is only possible under just and equal conditions and that no preconditions will be acceptable.

Underlining that the Iranian people are in favor of talks and logic, Ahmadinejad said that their attempt to set preconditions for holding talks to deprive the nation of its rights means suspension of nuclear activities for peaceful purposes.

"However, such a preset condition is not acceptable to the Iranian nation," added the president.
