Iranian finance minister arrives in Antalya, Turkey

( IRNA ) - Iran's Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Davoud Danesh-Jaafari arrived here on Friday to attend the 2nd meeting of finance ministers of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

The two-day meeting of ECO finance ministers begins on Friday and will be closed Saturday afternoon.

High ranking experts of the second ministerial meeting of ECO started their meeting on Thursday in the Turkish city of Antalya.

Iran's Deputy finance minister and chief of Organization of Investment Mohammad Khazaie, Deputy finance minister Mohammad Zahedi-Vafa, Deputy foreign minister and Director General of department of international economic cooperation Morteza Daman-Pak, Deputy Governor of the Central bank of Iran Komeijani and Director for debts and international institutions department of the Finance inistry Behrouz Ali-Shiri are representing Iran in the meeting of experts.

ECO experts will study campaign against fraud and money laundering, prepare the ground for investments, free flow of capital, developments in micro-economics and the experiences of other states in relation to international financial institutions.

ECO was founded in Turkish city of Ezmir by initiative of Iran, Turkey and Pakistan in 1985.

However, after the Collapse of the former Soviet Union and independence of its Central Asian republics in 1992, they joined ECO as well.

This organization has ten member states and its permanent secretariat is located in Tehran.
