( IRNA ) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and members of his cabinet arrived here Monday morning on a five-day visit to this southern province.
The president and his entourage were welcomed at Shiraz Shahid Dastgheib International Airport by a number of senior provincial officials and religious figures including Shiraz Governor Mohammad- Reza Rezazadeh.
During his stay, the president is due to visit various provincial cities and meet local residents, war veterans and ulema.
He will preside over a cabinet session in Shiraz to discuss the province's problems and needs before returning to Tehran.
The president's current visit to this southern province is his 27th to various provinces of the country since the start of his initiative of bringing the government closer to the people.
Provinces already visited by the president since assuming office are South Khorasan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Ilam, Qom, Hormuzgan, Bushehr, Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiari, Lorestan, Golestan, Kohgilouyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Khorassan Razavi, Zanjan, Markazi, Qazvin, Hamedan, East Azarbaijan, Tehran, North Khorassan, Kordestan, West Azarbaijan and Ardebil, Mazandaran, Kermanshah, Khuzestan, Gilan, and Yazd.
