( IRNA ) - Iran's ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh called the resolutions issued by the United Nations Security Council against Iran as 'illegal'.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Slovenian academicians and intellectuals on Wednesday.

Denying Iran the right to conduct uranium enrichment activities has no legal base, he said adding that the measure of the UNSC to this end is merely political and goes beyond principles and contents of UN Charter.

The world should adopt itself to this new reality that Iran has gained access to uranium enrichment technology, he underlined.

Iran has always cooperated with IAEA and there is no evidence to prove Iran's deviation from peaceful programs up to now, he said.

He voiced Iran's readiness to remove probable ambiguities about its nuclear activities and underlined that the country is ready to convince the world public opinion of the transparency of its peaceful nuclear programs.

Slovenia is a new member of the European Union which is to hold the rotating presidency of the EU for a six-month period.
