By Fatih Karimov - Trend: An Iranian company has managed to manufacture BB3 pumps, also known as horizontally split pumps are commonly used in oil refinery and pipeline applications, both for water and petroleum products.
The first sample of BB3 pumps, meeting APL610 standards, was manufactured by a company, which is affiliated with FARAB Water and Energy Projects Company, Iran's Fars news agency reported May 4.
Shahram Derakhshan, the managing director of the company, said that designing, casting, and assembling BB3 pumps is a complicated job.
Over the past 20 years, FARAB has been working on indigenizing the technology for establishing hydroelectric power plants and export its services to Tajikistan, Kenya, and Sri Lanka, he added.
