The volume and value of trades at Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) dropped by 30 percent over the third Iranian calendar month of Khordad (May 21 – June 20) compared to the preceding months of Ordibehesht (April 20 – May 20) and Farvardin (March 20 – April 19).
Some 17 billion shares worth 3.750 trillion rials (about $122.75 million according to official rate on June 21) were traded in 1.37 million transactions at the TSE in a period of one month between May 21 and June 20, Iranian newspaper Donyay-e Eqtesad reported.
Meanwhile, the volume and value of TSE trades over the past month (May 21 – June 20) dropped by 50 percent compared to the last three months of the past Iranian calendar year that ended March 20.
The TSE main index reached 76,413 on April 20 and gradually experienced heavy losses over the month closing at 72,615 on June 20.
