Greece to pay off Iran’s oil debts by instalments in 2 years

Greece would pay off its debts on Iranian oil imports -remained during the last few years, due to sanctions - by instalments in 2 years, the deputy of oil minister said Oct.21.

Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading Amir-Hossein Zamaninia told Mehr that the final agreement between Iran and Greece on payment method was achieved.

He also said that Iran has resumed oil export to Greece.

Zamaninia said that Athens have about 900 million euro worth of debts to Iran, unpaid during the last several years due to the sanctions.

International sanctions on Iran were eliminated in mid-January after implementation of nuclear deal between Tehran and world’s superpowers.
