Tehran, Iran, March 19

By Mehdi Sepahvand –- Trend:

Iran has operationalized Phase 2 of South Pars and is expecting an output of 25 mcm/d of gas and 40,000 bbl/d of condensates there.

The gas output will be injected into the countrywide distribution grid while the condensates will be directly sent to overseas markets, SHANA news agency reported March 19.

Phases 20 and 21 are twins, i.e. developed roughly together. As now Phase 20 is fully operational, natural gas recovery from the two is expected to reach 56 mcm/d.

The offshore platform of SP21 was installed in December 2016 and came on-stream early March.

Iran shares South Pars gas field with Qatar in Persian Gulf waters.
