The Iranian Social Security Organization (ISSO) may face bankruptcy within the next two years due to lack of funds, a lawmaker said.
MP Rasoul Khezri has criticized the current and previous administrations for refusing to settle their debts to the ISSO saying that no administration, so for, has paid even “one penny” to the organization, ICANA reported.
Khezri estimated that the government’s outstanding debt to the social insurer has surpassed $31 billion.
However, Seyyed Taqi Nourbakhsh, the head of the ISSO back in April said that President Hassan Rouhani’s government repaid $2.45 billion of arrears which had piled up from previous years.
