Iran signs deal with Czech Republic’s export credit agency

Iran signed a cooperation document with the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP)‎, Czech Republic’s official export credit agency, Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Marek Dlouhý, vice chairman of the Board of Directors and Business Section head of EGAP and Hossein Yaghoubi Miab, director general for international affairs of CBI, on Nov. 14 in Tehran.

The document is jointly prepared by the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran (EGFI), CBI and Iran’s economy ministry.

The MoU, targets facilitating trade and promoting investment between the two countries.

On the sidelines of the signing ceremony the two parties held "constructive talks" for financing joint projects through signing financial deals between Iranian and Czech banks with insurance coverage supplied by EGAP.

The Export Guarantee Fund of Iran has signed mutual cooperation documents with Germany’s Hermes, which offers export credit guarantee (ECG), and Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV) as well as the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Plc (MEHIB), the Portuguese export credit agency (COSEC), Sri Lanka Export Credit Insurance Corporation (Slecic), Finland’s official export credit agency (Finnvera), Brazilian Guarantees and Fund Managements Agency (ABGF), Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic (Eximbanka SR) and Export Credit Insurance Corporation of Poland (KUKE) in recent months.

The signed documents foresee mutual cooperation for facilitating trade and in exchange of economic, banking, and insurance information.
