The head of Iran Fisheries Organization, Hassan Salehi, said Tehran and Oslo plan to boost bilateral cooperation in the fishery industry.

“Iran Fisheries Organization has more than 80 Export Centers (EC),” Salehi said during a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Norway Mohammad Hassan Habibzadeh, IRIB news agency reported.

The two sides explored ways how to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the sector of fishery following the US returning sanctions.

Referring to Iran’s cage fish farming systems, he said not all fish farming equipment is manufactured inside Iran and we are ready to cooperate with Norway in the sector of equipment and technology.

Iran and Norway have so far signed 12 agreements to increase their cooperation in the fishery sector. Currently, the Islamic Republic is jointly implementing fishery projects with Norwegian firms, including ECO Group and Aqua Land.
