Water level of Iran’s Lake Urmia down

As of Oct. 13, the water level of Lake Urmia in Iran dropped to 1,270.25 meters, while it was 1,270.27 meters as of Sept. 23, Mizan News Agency reported.

The study of the condition of the Lake Urmia shows a 0.01 percent increase in the lake’s water level compared to the same period last year.

Also, the area of Lake Urmia is 1,698.64 square kilometers. As of Sept. 23, it was 1,722.87 square kilometers and dropped by 24.23 square kilometers.

Meanwhile, the area of the lake decreased by 4,514.9 square kilometers to 2,816.24 square kilometers.

The water volume in Lake Urmia was 1.01 billion cubic meters as of Oct.13. Compared to the same period last year, the water volume decreased by 0.02 percent.
