About 7 percent of the world’s road bitumen production accounts for Iran, said Mohamad Rahi, head of Research and Development Department at Iran’s Pasargad Oil Company, IRNA reported.
He said that 115 million tons of road bitumen are produced in the world per year, and about 6 million tons of this volume are produced in Iran.
He added that about 4 million tons of the produced road bitumen are exported and the rest is used for Iran’s domestic needs.
“Pasargad Oil Company has plants in Tehran, Arak, Tabriz, Shiraz, Abadan and Bandarabad cities,” he said. “Last year (started March 21, 2017 in Iran), about 5 million tons of road bitumen were produced, and about half of this volume was exported.”
