This Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), wheat production in Iran increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous year, Ismayil Isfandiyaripoor, representative of the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture, said in an interview with the Young Journalists Club.
He said that according to the latest statistics, from September 23 up till now 4,210,000 hectares of wheat have been sown.
Artificial irrigation has declined by 7 percent compared to the previous year, whereas drip irrigation increased by 5 percent, Isfandiyaripoor said.
He added that until now 73 percent of wheat program have been implemented in the provinces.
