Iran-China bank transactions still under discussion

Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 18

By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

In line with the agreements of Iranian economists with the Chinese side, bank transactions between the two countries had to start, but unfortunately, this issue hasn’t been implemented yet, Co-Chair of Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce Asadollah Asgaroladi said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

He said that in recent days, the Iranian ambassador visited China to eliminate bank problems, adding that the positive outcome of the discussions is expected.

He noted that next week Iran will start selling oil to China, and its money will be paid within a month.

The Chinese side should announce its second bank for transactions with the Iranian side during the next month, he said.

Earlier, Asgaroladi said that a Chinese bank will start implementing mutual transactions with Iran Dec. 2.
