Iran exports electricity to all regional countries with land borders and related negotiations have been held with neighboring countries with water borders, the Head of Iran's Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Management Company (Tavanir) said.
Referring to the export of electricity to Oman, Hasan Motavilizadeh said that "Technical plans are underway.,” Trend reports citing ILNA.
“Sea cable should be installed for the passage of electricity from Iran t Oman,” Head of Iran's Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Management Company (Tavanir) Hassan Motevalizadeh said. Studies and negotiations are underway to determine whether an exchange or only export should be done.
He also announced the ongoing negotiation to increase exports to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Tavanir CEO also said that generating electricity from nuclear power plants is part of the policies of the Atomic Energy Organization.
“The Ministry of Energy welcomes the diversity of energy generation from renewable to nuclear power plants,” he noted.
