Iran recaps non-oil trade turnover with Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. The non-oil trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan grew by 1.78 percent in value and 6.2 percent in volume during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023 through February 19, 2024), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

In 11 months, Iran traded about 1.28 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at over $443 million with Turkmenistan, as was reflected in data from Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Meanwhile, in the same period of the previous Iranian year, the trade turnover between the two countries stood at 1.2 million tons worth approximately $436 million.

The main trade items were agricultural and food products, industrial products, transformers, water conditioners, petrochemical products, petroleum coke, cotton, cloth, etc.

In the 11th month alone (January 21, 2024 through February 19, 2024), the two countries traded 131,000 tons of non-oil goods worth around $41 million.

Overall, Iran's non-oil trade with the rest of the world was $139 billion in the first 11 months of this year, which is growth of 2.7 percent in value compared to the same period last year.
