Iran's Kurdistan Province plans to increase agricultural production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. Iran's Kurdistan Province, located in western Iran, is planning to increase agricultural production by 11 percent in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025), Director of the Agriculture Department of Iran's Kurdistan Province Peyman Eskandari said, Trend reports.

According to Eskandari, 3.6 million tons of agricultural products were cultivated in Iran's Kurdistan Province last year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024).

Eskandari stated that this year's figure is planned to increase to 4 million tons.

The official of the department noted that in this regard, several steps have been taken in the province to remove obstacles facing the production of agricultural products and work has been carried out to develop horticultural lands and sowing areas.

To note, according to the latest statistics on agricultural production in Iran's Kurdistan province, the province's sowing and horticultural areas amount to about 800,000 hectares and harvest more than 2 million tons per year.
