Chairman Artak Shaboyan of the Armenian State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition has adopted a fairly interesting work method in recent times, News.am reported. "He summoned several businessmen, including certain oligarchs, to whom he defined the new rules of the game.
He came to an arrangement with the businessmen and individual oligarchs that he will fine them periodically, but with a very small amount, to present an indicator that as if there are positive trends in this domain.
According to the new rules of the game, real inspections will not be actually carried out because in that case, many will simply be obligated to be fined with a handsome amount once a week. Yet in this case, the businessmen are not fined much and Artak Shaboyan comes out the winner, as he shows to his superiors and the society that the structure he heads works so efficiently," Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily writes.
